Setup flow
Share a project with a client
A client can follow the work you're doing for them from a link: the project's
tasks by status, how far along it is, and each task's details. They need no
account, and the link opens that one project and nothing else.
Share a project
On the project, press the globe button (Share with a client). Choose how
long the link lasts and what the client may do:
- Can see tasks: names, status, start and due dates, assignees and descriptions.
- Can see and comment: the same, plus each task's comments, which they can
read and add to.
Press Create link and send it to your client. Copy it then: it isn't shown again.
What the client sees
A board with Backlog, To do, In progress, In review and Done, and how many tasks
are done. Cancelled tasks are left out. Opening a task shows its details and,
with comments on, its conversation. The board refreshes on its own.
A client's comment arrives on the task with their name and "(guest)", and the
people on the task are told the way any comment tells them. It is never posted
to a linked GitHub issue.
Turn a link off
The same dialog lists the links that work now. Press Turn off and the link
stops working at once. Workspace admins can also see and turn off every link
under Admin → Security → Guest access.
Good to know
- Only the project's admins (or a workspace admin) can share it.
- Guest access must be on for the workspace (Admin → Security → Guest access).
- A link stops working when the project is archived.
- Descriptions are shown to the client, so keep internal notes in comments, and
share with Can see tasks if those are private.
