Inbox: Gmail in OneCamp

The Inbox brings your own Gmail into OneCamp, so email and the work it turns
into live in one place. It is in the sidebar under Inbox.

Connect Gmail

Open Inbox and press Connect Gmail.
Google asks you to allow OneCamp to read your email and to send email as you;
it asks for nothing else.

Only you can see your mail. It is read with your own connection, on your
behalf, and nobody else in the workspace, admins included, can open it through
OneCamp. To end the connection, open Settings, Connectors and disconnect Gmail.

What you can do

  • Read and search. The search box takes Gmail's own syntax, for example
    from:priya after:2026/09/01 or has:attachment.
  • Summarise. One click summarises a long conversation: what it is about,
what is being asked of you, and any dates or amounts. This uses your
workspace's AI, under the same rules as every other AI feature. Not in the
    edition without AI.
  • Make a task. The task form opens with the subject as its name and a quote
of the email, with a link back to it.
  • Reply. Your reply goes out from your own address, in the same
    conversation.

What it does not do

  • It never loads images from the sender's server. An image like that is how
a sender learns you opened an email, and when. Images embedded in the email
    itself still show.
  • Reading here does not mark an email read in Gmail, because OneCamp only
has permission to read and send, not to change your mailbox.
  • Attachments open in Gmail, one click from the message.
  • Very long emails are shortened here, with a link to the full message.
