Project templates

Start a project with its plan already in it: the tasks, their order, their
dates and the board's columns. Pick a template in New project, or save a
project you've run before as one.

Start from a template

  1. Open New project: press Ctrl/⌘ K and choose Create Project.
  2. Name it and pick its team.
  3. Under Start from, choose a template. The line under the list shows its
    first tasks.
  4. Choose the day it Starts on. Every date in the template counts from that
day. With Nothing due on a weekend ticked, a date that falls on a Saturday
or a Sunday moves to the Monday after.
  5. Press Create with N tasks.

The project opens with every task in the template's order, each with its
description, priority, tags and subtasks. Tasks start unassigned, so assign
them as you go (on the list, X to select several and A to assign them
all at once).

The built-in templates

Save a project as a template

On a project you administer, press the template button in the project's
header (Save as a template). Give it a name and, if you like, a line on
when to use it.

What's kept:

  • the project's own statuses, so the board has the same columns;
  • every task and subtask except cancelled ones, with their descriptions,
    priorities and tags;
  • their dates, as days from the project's earliest date, so the spacing
    between them carries over.

Every task starts again: one not yet started keeps its status, and the rest go
back to To do. Who each task is assigned to, comments, files and time stay
with the original project.

Saved templates appear under Saved in this workspace in New project, for
everyone who can create a project. A template holds up to 200 tasks and
subtasks.

Share a template with another workspace

In New project, open the ⋯ on a saved template and choose Download. In
the other OneCamp, press Add a template file above the list and pick the
file. Only a template file made by OneCamp is accepted.

Whoever saved a template, and the workspace's admins, can delete it from the
same ⋯ menu.

Link straight to a template

https://<your OneCamp>/app/project?new=client-project opens New project with
that template chosen. Use a built-in template's name in lowercase with hyphens
(product-launch, new-hire-onboarding), or new=1 for the blank dialog.
