Setup flow
The desktop app
OneCamp has a desktop app for Windows, macOS and Linux. It opens your own
workspace in its own window, with native notifications and a tray icon that
keeps it running, so messages still reach you after you close the window.
The app holds no copy of OneCamp: it loads your workspace's address, so it
always matches the version your server runs. It works with OneCamp Cloud and
with self-hosted installs alike.
Install it
Download the file for your computer from the
latest release:
| Your computer | File |
|---|---|
| Windows | OneCamp_…_x64-setup.exe |
| Mac with Apple silicon (M1 and later) | OneCamp_…_aarch64.dmg |
| Mac with Intel | OneCamp_…_x64.dmg |
| Linux | .AppImage, .deb or .rpm |
The installers are not yet code-signed:
- Windows may show "Windows protected your PC". Choose More info, then
Run anyway. - macOS may say the app cannot be opened. Right-click it in Applications and
choose Open.
First launch
Enter the address you open OneCamp at in your browser, for exampleonecamp.yourcompany.com, and sign in as usual. Google and single sign-on work
inside the app. No workspace yet? Choose Try the live demo.
Everyday use
- Closing the window keeps OneCamp in the tray, like a chat app. To quit,
use the tray icon's menu. - Change workspace… in the tray menu starts again at the address page.
- Links in messages open in your normal browser.
- Notifications use your operating system's own. Allow them when asked.
Updates
The app checks for a new version when it starts and tells you if one is
available. Choose Check for updates in the tray menu to install it; the app
restarts when it is done. Updates are signed, and the app refuses one whose
signature does not match.
