Task templates, table editors you choose, reactions on boards

New tasks can now start from a template, kept for one project or for the whole workspace, and make their sub-tasks with them. The projects overview and timeline read each project's plan, with its status, priority, lead, labels and target, and imports from Linear, Asana, Jira and Basecamp bring the plan along. A table's share dialog chooses who may edit its rows, and the server holds every write to that choice. Boards take reactions and raised hands, from a share link's guests too, show what the person you follow sees at your own screen's size, and open every panel as a sheet on a phone. What an admin takes away, from a setting to a saved view, an integration or a calendar, is now kept and marked with who took it away and when, and the admin audit log names who changed a team, someone's access to a doc or board, a board's sharing or a calendar.

  • Task templates. A project's admins keep task templates for the project in its tools, and workspace admins keep them for every project in Admin > Permissions. A template's body is written in Markdown with a live preview, and a template can set a new task's status and its assignee, one of the project's people or an AI teammate. New task offers them, fills its form from the one you pick and makes the template's sub-tasks with the task, under a restricted task too. Alt+C on a list, or Alt-click on New task, opens New task at the template picker.
  • Plans across projects. The projects overview and timeline read each project's plan, its status, priority, lead, labels and target, and sort by them. A project has one end date for the Target column, the phone card, the sort and the timeline, and its lead is named the same way everywhere, even after they leave. Workspace admins edit the project statuses and labels in one card in Settings > Permissions.
  • Imports bring the plan. A Linear project arrives with its plan and every label, Asana, Jira and Basecamp bring the plan and when each piece of work was done, and imported tasks count from when they were finished.
  • Who can edit a table. A table's share dialog sets who may edit its rows, as a general level and by person. The server checks every write against it, and every place that edits a table follows it.
  • Reactions on boards. Everyone on a board, a share link's guests included, can react and raise a hand, and only an editor lowers someone's hand.
  • Following on boards. Following someone shows what they see, fitted to your screen, with a follow frame sized for touch. Find dims the rest of the board while it has matches and brings a frame's name into view with the frame.
  • Boards on a phone. Every board panel opens as the app's phone sheet, and its fields no longer zoom the page when tapped.
  • Tables go further. A table jumps straight to a far row, row heights have names, and a selected cell takes Airtable's keys, listed in the keyboard shortcuts' Tables group. A click selects a cell, so what you type replaces it.
  • Kept, not lost. Taking away a workspace setting or an admin configuration, deleting a saved view, disconnecting an integration or unsubscribing from a calendar now keeps the record, marked with who did it and when; an integration's credentials are cleared, and a setting set again comes back. Switching or disconnecting a Slack workspace keeps every channel link, marked, and a deleted cycle or form says what it was.
  • The admin audit log. It now records changes to a team's people, taking someone out of a channel, taking away a manager's role, lowering or removing someone's access to a doc or board, sharing or exporting a board, changes to a calendar and every change to the workspace's AI, each with who did it and when, and its area filter offers boards.
  • Agents in direct messages. A call can't be started in a direct message with an agent, and OneCamp says why before any room opens.

Before you update: 17 database migrations (552 to 568), which make update applies after taking a backup. Re-run the install command you installed with, then make update. Update the web app with the server, as make update does, and if you host the web app yourself, deploy this release's web app at the same time; anyone with a tab open should reload. Going back to the earlier release isn't supported: restore the backup make update took. For scripts and integrations: an API token now works with a table's rows under /v1/tables/{id}/rows, acting as the token's member: read, query, update and delete rows by id, apply a batch as one change, read a row's history, and list and restore the table's trash (/v1/tables/{id}/trash); the same operations are open over MCP, each one recoverable. New routes cover task templates (/project/task-templates for the workspace's, /project/{project_uuid}/task-templates for a project's, with make, delete and restore) and who may edit a table (/tables/{id}/editing). Removing a setting, an admin configuration, a saved view, an integration or a calendar subscription is now soft and keeps who did it and when. Existing routes keep their paths.

Fixes

  • OneCamp AI's daily note could arrive over a board or a call, and on a phone take the taps meant for the board; it now waits and shows on the next page you open.
  • Two people joining at the same moment could both take a workspace's last seat; fixed.
  • The connectors page could disconnect connections it didn't list; it now disconnects only what it shows.
  • Media added to a message box could push the words out of sight; they now stay in view.
  • A slide shared in a call could be framed while it was still settling; it is now measured at rest.
  • A share link's guest who reconnected or reloaded could take the place of another tab; each tab now comes back as itself.
  • On a phone, a table view could run past the screen and hide its sums and New row; it now ends on the screen.
  • On a phone, the first long press on a table could fail to start a range; fixed.
  • Undoing a table change that was still saving showed a stray toast; fixed.
  • An installed Android app in the dark theme kept a light navigation bar and launch screen; they now follow the theme.

  • The sidebar's docs list moved what was below it as it loaded; it now holds its place.
  • A board's image dialog could lose the keyboard's focus; fixed.
  • Notes laid out in another font are fitted again in theirs when a board opens.
