Projects with plans, tables with find and replace, calls you can draw on
This release includes a security fix, so update now. Every project now carries a plan on its home: where it stands, its priority, its lead, start and target dates at the resolution you choose and its labels, with cards beside them for the tools it uses elsewhere. A teammate's change reaches an open board, list or timeline as it happens. Tables select, copy, paste and fill ranges of cells, keep up to three columns in place and find and replace across every row of a view. The command menu acts on the task you are on or the tasks you have selected, and previews a result before you open it. Calls pop out into a window of their own, take drawings on a shared screen and play a board as slides, and an event keeps its call's recordings, transcript and notes. Boards take live cards for your tasks, docs and files, find and replace their words and let a presenter bring everyone along, and tasks and boards open with no network, even from a cold start.
- Project plans. A project's home shows where it stands in the workspace's own statuses (grouped as planned, in progress, paused, done and cancelled), its priority, its lead, a start and a target date kept to a day, month, quarter, half or year, and its labels. A project's admins choose the lead and whoever posts its updates sets the rest; workspace admins keep the statuses and labels in the settings.
- Project links. A project's links to its tools elsewhere show as cards on its home and in the Links tool, each with the picture and title its page gives. The project's admins add, rename and delete them, and an address typed without https:// is added with it.
- Changes as they happen. A teammate's change reaches an open board, list, timeline or task panel at once, and a task they make appears on an open board without a reload.
- Ranges of cells. Select a block of a table's cells by keys, mouse or a long press; copy it, paste a sheet over it, clear it, fill a series with the fill handle or copy down with Ctrl+D, and take any of it back with one Ctrl+Z.
- Find and replace in tables. Ctrl+F finds across every row of a view, counted on the server, tints each match and brings it into sight; replace one match or all of them, each with its own Undo. Clean-ups remove duplicates, trim spaces and split a column, with one Undo for each step.
- Frozen columns. Up to three leading columns stay in place as a table scrolls sideways, frozen from a column's menu and kept by saved views.
- A command menu that acts. Ctrl+K (⌘K on a Mac) acts on the task you are on, its status, priority, assignee, tags, cycle and milestone, or on a list's selection. t, p, u, d or c and a space narrow it to tasks, projects, people, docs or channels, and Space previews a result's details beside the list before it opens.
- Calls in a window of their own. A call pops out into a picture-in-picture window dressed like the call, so it stays in sight while you work elsewhere.
- Drawing and slides in calls. Draw on a shared screen for everyone in the call, each person in their own colour, which also marks their face, speaking ring and captions. A board on the call's stage plays as slides, and the presenter moves everyone frame by frame.
- A fuller stage. The stage shows up to 7 by 7 faces with pages, every share at once and a strip with +N, and a shared tab sends its sound too, without sending the call's own sound back.
- Event calls. An event's organiser can record its call onto the event and choose whether guests invited by email knock first. The event keeps the call's recordings, transcript and notes: whoever may read the event plays them, and whoever may change it deletes them, with Undo.
- Undo for recordings. Deleting a recording in a channel or a conversation can be undone; only the retention setting removes it for good.
- Live cards on boards. Add from OneCamp puts a task, doc or file on a board as a card that stays up to date, and passes over projects you can no longer reach.
- Find on boards. Find the words on a board and replace them; a search hit opens the board at its words, and a board's words are found in search and by the AI, for whoever may read the board.
- Presenting on boards. An editor can bring everyone to their view once, with Go back, and a presenter holds everyone on theirs; anyone following is taken to the presenter's view as presenting starts.
- Offline from a cold start. Tasks open and edit with no network even when OneCamp starts offline, and every card of a board you kept opens whole. A page in the app's own colours says why anything else can't open, and signing out lets go of everything kept on that device.
- Calendar. The event form sets a working location and shows where guests work that day; a direct message shows the other person's calendar status, and guest lists say when someone is out of office.
- The table trash. A table in the trash shows who deleted it and when it goes for good, and can be deleted for good at once after a confirmation; a table deleted for good takes its rows, forms and comments with it.
- Who and when. Taking someone off a restricted task, lifting a restriction, leaving a project, taking away a project role, stopping a calendar share and withdrawing an invitation now keep the record with who did it and when, and a project role given again comes back.
Before you update: 11 database migrations (up to 551), which make update applies after taking a backup; one index is built without holding up writes. Re-run the install command you installed with, then make update. The update records that first-run setup is done on every workspace that already has people or an admin. If a workspace has no admin left, restore one from the install directory with make restore-admin EMAIL=you@example.com, using the address of a member who has signed in. Update the web app with the server, as make update does, and if you host the web app yourself, deploy this release's web app at the same time; anyone with a tab open should reload. Going back to the earlier release isn't supported: restore the backup make update took. For scripts and integrations: webhooks can now send task.updated for every change to a task's fields, with the fields it changed, their new values, what they replaced (previous), who made it and from where, and making a sub-task now sends task.created with its parent_task_id. GET /work/changes lists the task changes each reader may see, kept for 30 days. New routes cover project plans (/project/{id}/plan), project links (/project/{id}/links), a table's find, replace and clean-ups (POST /tables/{id}/rows/transform) and an event's call recordings (/calendar/events/{id}/call/artefacts). Deleting a channel's or a conversation's recording is now soft, with restoreRecording as its Undo, and takes a channel's moderators or a workspace admin, or the conversation's own people. Existing routes keep their paths.
Fixes
- A security fix to the first-run admin setup.
- Someone who may only read a board could still change it while it was open; fixed.
- A command menu search holding :, @, &, + or / missed what it named; fixed.
- Lists for picking a project offered archived projects; they now leave them out.
- Search showed a repeating event at its first time instead of its next; fixed.
- A time zone given by another of its names could move an event's time; fixed.
- After a column fill, a table's counts and totals could show an older number over a newer one; fixed.
- On a phone, toasts could cover an open sheet's header, buttons and foot; they now keep clear.
- The timeline's month name could run under the Today pill; fixed.
- An AI question too large for the model ended in an error; it is now fitted to the model and asked once more, and AI errors are explained in OneCamp's own words.
