Check-ins: a channel answers a question on a schedule
- A channel's admins set up a check-in from the channel's ⋯ → Check-ins (desktop and phone): a question (or one of the suggestions), the days it's asked and the time, in their time zone. Everyone in the channel can open it to see what's asked and when. Migration 190.
- On each day, the Check-in bot posts the question in the channel. Everyone in it is notified, people who are away get an email, and the answers go in the question's thread.
- Ask now, Edit, Pause/Resume and Delete (past answers stay). Asked at the local time across daylight saving; a time the clocks skip is asked at the first minute after. A question more than two hours late (the server was down) is skipped, not asked at midnight. An archived channel's check-ins pause themselves. Up to 20 per channel.
- Safe with several workers: each due time is claimed by one atomic update, so a question is asked once.
- New:
GET/POST /ch/{channel_uuid}/checkins,POST /ch/checkins/{id}/edit|pause|delete|ask.
Bots are labelled for what they are
- Only the assistant and agents are tagged Agent and drawn with the agent sparkle. The Check-in, Slack bridge, channel-guest and automation accounts are tagged Bot in neutral grey, and a screen reader hears "Automated account". Before, every bot was announced as an "AI agent", even in the edition without AI.
- New:
GET /user/botKinds(each bot's kind, by uuid).
Polish
- A thread's reply box says "Reply…" and a comment box "Add a comment…", as on phones (it read "Add a message, if you'd like…", which suits only forwarding).
